Victor C Davies

The school was established in 1853 on 17 August.  We turn 156 years old and we have been on this site for 40 years.
History of the land - The land adjoining the school is all part of the original Ferndale Block.  The land was owned by Duncan and Davies Nursery.  Sir Victor Caddy Davies, was made partner in 1910.  Son Trevor Davies lived in the house behind the block.  Victor C Davies lived on Tukapa Street across from where Woolworths is now.

The bush track was established as vehicle access track for Duncan and Davies access, bush track, the track with concrete entrance way hung a slight left to Trevors house. They grew their plants on site and shipped them off around the country.
This area of bush has been set aside as a reserve and can’t be built on.
