Room 7 - Year 3-4 Class

Welcome back to term 3! This term we are conducting an inquiry into the Dairy Industry. As Frankley School is on the urban periphery this is a very pertinent topic of inquiry. Is farming something that impacts on only those directly involved like farmers? Or is it an industry that impacts on all of us, children and parents alike?
What do you know about dairy farming?
Who is Fonterra? How does the milk get from the cow to the fridge? What happens along the way? Does it taste the same in the shed as it does at home? What type of milk, butter, marj, yoghurt etc do you buy? Why? Did anyone watch the Country Calendar episode on organic farming?

Key Dates for the term:

Farm Visit - 5th August

Parent Interviews - 18th, 19th August

Cross Country - 25th August - Starting at 1pm this year. Races will be in age groups and will proceed in ascending order.
