This week Jakes mum will be taking a group of students for Friday McCredit Cooking in the staffroom. Thanks to all our cooking tutors so far, Katys mum (twice), Jacobs mum, Mikaylas mum and Olivers Auntie.

Active Kids:

Friday 3 September

Crosscountry buildup is now over for thr majority of or students. Active Kids daily fitness activities are due to resume next week. Active Kids will be at 12:35pm...weather permitting ! KIDS ARE BUILT TO MOVE !!!

Home Resource Learning Area

Monday 23 August, Week 6 Term 3

FRIDAY 27 AUGUST. Completion rates for our Basic Facts and Maths Strategy home learning sheets have been low. I will issue our copies of Basic Facts support and Numeracy Strategy practise again on Monday 30 August. If it turns out that most families prefer not to use this type of material as home support for their children, then I will review how all this photocopy material is distributed for you all.

TIMESTABLE TRIANGLES..

I have been supplied with some new, colour, small sized "SMART TABLES". They are now available for the children to buy to use for basic facts learning. If they want to purchase one of these "Smart Tables" could they please bring 80 cents and pay this to Mr McA.

NEW MATHS SUPPORT SHEETS THIS WEEK....

The two maths sheets you may like to do for home learning this week;

1.. A Multiplication practise worksheet for each group.

GREEN...Multiples Totum Pole for 5, 10 timestables.

BLUE.....Division Telegraph poles, 6,7,8,9 timestables.

RED.......Division/Mult connections

One sheet per maths basic facts group

2.. A separate Multiplication maintenance sheet for Green, Blue and Red groups.

GREEN... Using Place Value to solve two digit by single digit multiplication. (again)

BLUE..... Using Doubling and Halving to solve multiplication

RED....... Using Doubling and Halving to solve money multiplication

Some parts of this homelearning may be done with calculators and these sections have been labelled

Parents PLEASE mark this basic facts and maintenance work at home with your children and give feedback and support as appropriate.

Each student in our class is enrolled to do free online maths activities at SmartKiddies .

SMARTKIDDIES activities have now been changed to Geometry. Some are a little bit "Australian" sorry !...

Reading logs are in the rear of the Homelearning and can be completed as children read personal choice material at home. Some children are now onto their second sheet which is a redesigned "McReading Log" ! Bring to Mr McA for McCredits on completion.....

SPELLING

Go to Spelling City to practice your Essential Lists or....

10 AUGUST UPDATE..........try our Heart Health List.

1. Select the blue tab under the main banner that says "Find a List"

2. Click on the round button that says "Username"........this part is very important !

3. Type "FrankleyR8" and then select "Search"

4. All going to plan you should now be on the Andrew McAllister page where you should read a personal message from me and can select the Heart Health interest list to practice.
