Perceptual Motor Programme

Perceptual Motor Programme
Description

PMP is an integrated programme that will provide the children the foundation skills for literacy learning, skill development and measurable achievement.

Programme Organisation
Each week a junior class is allocated a specific timeframe, taken by a trained teacher in PMP, to work through the structured programme.  A key to the programme is the on-going follow up in the classroom.  Sessions change from week to week under the guidance of the lead teacher and covers all the skill areas identified.

Programme Goals

6 preparation/readiness skills will be targeted to lift performance in literacy development.

Auditory
Visual
Motor
Social
Language
Memory
These skills are all necessary for successful learning in literacy to occur.  The perceptual motor programme (PMP) covers and builds upon all those skills that the child arrives at school with.
